This 9-inch Panchdhatu sculpture represents Gaja Lakshmi, the goddess of fortune, wealth, and spiritual prosperity, seated majestically on an elephant. A celebrated form of Lakshmi, she is revered as the granter of abundance, often invoked during rituals for prosperity and auspicious beginnings.
Crafted by master artisans through the lost-wax casting technique, the sculpture is born from wax models, cast in molten Panchdhatu (an alloy of copper, brass, gold, silver, and iron), and finished with precision chiseling and polishing. The golden sheen reflects not just light but also the sacred symbolism of Lakshmi herself.
The elephant, richly detailed with carved ornaments and expressive eyes, represents royal strength and fertility, while the goddess seated upon it embodies generosity and divine blessings. In her hands, she holds lotus flowers — symbols of purity, renewal, and transcendence — and the elaborate crown with a halo frames her as the eternal bringer of light.
Standing on a decorated pedestal, this piece bridges temple iconography and collectible heritage art.
